APPSC Group 1 Eligibility Criteria

As per the official notification of APPSC Group 1 services, “a candidate must be of sound health, active habits and free from any bodily defect or infirmity rendering him/her unfit for the services”. Also, the character and antecedents of the candidate should be such as to qualify him/her for the service.
Besides the above, the candidates must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification

The common educational qualification required for this exam is a graduate degree from any recognised university.

District Fire Officers in A.P. Fire Service.

Degree in Engineering (Fire) of any University recognised by the University Grants Commission or any other equivalent qualifications. Provided that if no candidates with B.E (Fire) qualifications are available, candidates with the Degree in any discipline will be considered.

Asst. Treasury Officer/Asst. Accounts Officer in A.P. Treasury & Accounts Service

A degree in Commerce or Economics or Mathematics of a University Recognised by the UGC with at least a 2nd class in the subject, or A Chartered Accountants of the United Kingdom or India or an incorporated Accountant (London).

District Social Welfare Officer in A.P. Social Welfare Service

Must possess a bachelor’s Degree of any University in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or a State Act or provincial Act or an institution recognised by the University Grants Commission. Provided that preference shall be given to persons possessing a degree in Sociology or Social work.

Men

Must be at least 165 Cms. in height and at least  86 Cms. round the Chest on full expansion, with a chest expansion of at least 5 Cms.

 

For PC.No. 03 & 05: Vision: The candidate’s eyesight will be tested per the following rules. The result of each test will be recorded. 

Further, two eye tests will be done for testing any abnormality in the candidate’s eye. 

General test and Visual Acuity test.

Age Limit for APPSC Group 1 Exam

For Post Code No. 03 and 4:- No person shall be eligible for direct recruitment if he/she is less than 21 years of age and if he/she is over 28 years of age

For Post Code No.5:- No person shall be eligible for direct recruitment if he is less than 21 years of age and if he is over 26 years of age

For Post Code No. 8:- No person shall be eligible for direct recruitment if he/she is less than 18 years of age and if he/she is over 26 years of age.

Selection Process of APPSC Group 1

APPSC conducts the APPSC Group 1 exam to recruit the officers in the provincial civil services. There are three stages in the APPSC Group 1 exam.

Stage 1:  APPSC Group 1 Prelims(Screening) Exam

The prelims exam is a screening exam conducted offline in thirteen districts of Andhra Pradesh. It serves the purpose by reducing the number of candidates for the APPSC Group 1 main exam. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature and the marks got in the APPSC Group 1 Prelims exam will not be considered for the final merit.

Stage 2: APPSC Group 1 Main exam

The APPSC Group 1 main exam is a conventional type exam conducted in the offline mode. The marks of the main exam are counted while preparing the APPSC Group 1 final merit list. There are seven conventional essay type questions papers in the main exam. The Telugu and English papers are only of qualifying nature and their marks are not included in the final merit of the exam. Rest of the five papers are of General Studies with special emphasis on the events of Andhra Pradesh.

Stage 3: APPSC Group 1 Interview

After the main exam, APPSC Group 1 interviews are conducted and the candidates needed to go at the commission’s office in Vijayawada. The candidate needs to carry all the original documents related to their

The commission’s officers will verify the original certificates physically and will take a copy of all the certificated for the filling purpose. 

After the interviews, APPSC Group 1 final result will be released in due course of time. APPSC will not issue any waiting list for the exam and any vacancy arising after the notification will be forwarded to the next year notification.

APPSC Group 1 Cut off

The APPSC Group 1 cut off will be released along with the APSPC Group 1 result. The APPSC Group 1 cut off is released for each stage of exam separately. The candidates need to breach the cutoff released by the Commission to get selected for the next stage or for the final appointment.
